West Bengal Police Recruitment Board, West Bengal Police, is
inviting application from the eligible candidates for 259 posts of Forest Guard under Directorate of Forests.

FOREST GUARD
No. of Vacancies: 259 Nos. (UR-115; SC-91; ST-17; OBC A-22; OBC B-14))
Educational Qualification:
Madhyamik Examination or its equivalent from the West Bengal Board of Secondary
Education or any institution recognized by the State Governments or the Central
Government.
Age Limit: Not less than
18 years and not more than 32 years as on 01/01/2017
Pay Scale: Rs. 5,400 –
25,200/- (i.e. Pay Band-2) + Grade Pay Rs. 1,900/-
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper
age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC category.
Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
Physical Standards:
(i) Male Candidates:
Height — 163 cm (152.5 cms for Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbanshis and ST
candidates); Chest (unexpanded) — 84cm (79 cm for Gorkhas, Garwalies,
Rajbanshis and ST); Chest (expanded) — 89cm (84 cm for Gorkhas, Garwalies,
Rajbanshis and ST); Weight — As per medical standard
(ii) Female Candidates:
Height — 150 cm (145 cm for Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbanshis and ST candidates);
Chest — 79 cm (74 cm for Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbanshis and ST); Chest
(expanded) — 84 cm (79 cm for Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbanshis and ST); Weight —
As per medical standard
Candidates’ Selection:
Candidates will be selected through Competitive Written Examination which
will carry 90 marks having 90 questions of 1(one) mark each. The duration of
the Written Examination will be 1 (one) hour.
Question in the Written Examination shall be in the
following subjects – (i) General Awareness and General
Knowledge, (ii) English, (iii) Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard) and (iv) Reasoning.
For Male : 25 (Twenty Five) kilometer walk within 4 (four) hours.
For Female : 16 (Sixteen) kilometer walk within 4 (four) hours.
The candidates who will qualify in the PST & PET will be called for Personality Test. In the Personality Test, the general awareness and suitability of the candidate for public service will be tested.

Candidates must pay Rs.220/- including processing fee
(Rs.20/- as processing fee only for SC.ST candidates of West Bengal)
